Liangti Qu is a Professor of Chemistry at Tsinghua University. Research interest in material chemistry mainly focuses on controllable preparation, functional modification and assembly of conductive and functional polymers, and carbon nano materials, such as graphene and carbon nanotubes., and meanwhile to explore their applications in advanced functional materials, efficient energy conversion and storage. The research fields include nano chemistry and material chemistry, electrochemistry, green energy, flexible electronics and energy storage devices. Examples include graphene superstructure, intelligent response polymer, seawater desalination, air power generation, new electrochemical batteries/capacitors, micro energy devices and flexible devices. He has published more than 300 SCI papers in international important journals such as Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society, etc., with more than 20000 citations and more than 2600 citations for a single paper. He is one of the most cited researchers in materials science (Elsevier). He is a Clarivate Analytics Global highly cited researcher (Cross-Field).

Chunyi Zhi

Professor

Chunyi ZHI obtained a B.S. in Physics from Shandong University and a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Japan, he was promoted to ICYS researcher, researcher (faculty), and senior researcher (permanent position) in NIMS. Dr. Zhi is now a professor at the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhi has extensive experience in aqueous electrolyte batteries, zinc ion batteries, and flexible energy storage. He has published more than 500 papers with an h-index of 128 (by Nov 2023). He has been granted more than 100 patents. He is a Clarivate Analytics Global highly cited researcher (2019-2023, Materials Science), RSC fellow, member of The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences and RGC Senior Research Fellow.

Michael Saliba

University of Stuttgart, Germany

Prof. Michael Saliba is a full professor and the director of the Institute for Photovoltaics (ipv) at the University of Stuttgart, with a dual appointment at the Research Center Jülich, Germany. His research focuses on a deeper understanding and improvement of optoelectronic properties of photovoltaic materials with an emphasis on emerging perovskites for a sustainable energy future. Since 2021, Michael is the Speaker of the DFG Graduate School (GRK) 2642 for “Quantum Engineering”. In 2022, he was awarded an Starting Grant by the European Research Council (ERC).

Previously, Michael was at TU Darmstadt, Fribourg University and a Marie Curie Fellow at EPFL, Switzerland with research stays at Cornell and Stanford. He obtained his PhD at Oxford University and MSc degree at Stuttgart University together with the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research.

Michael has published numerous works in the fields of plasmonics, lasers, LEDs and perovskite optoelectronics. He is listed as ISI Highly Cited Researcher since 2018. He was awarded the Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz prize by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and named as one of the World’s 35 Innovators Under 35 by the MIT Technology Review. He is a Member of the German National Young Academy (Junge Akademie, hosted by the BBAW and Leopoldina).

Tierui Zhang

Tierui Zhang

Dr. Tierui Zhang is a full Professor in Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (TIPC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Director of Key Laboratory of Photochemical Conversion and Optoelectronic Materials, CAS. He received his B.S. in Chemistry in 1998, and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2003 from Jilin University in China. After that, he did postdoctoral study in Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, University of Alberta, University of Arkansas and University of California-Riverside, respectively. His research activity focuses on catalyst nanomaterials for energy conversion such as photocatalytic solar fuels and value-added chemicals. He has published more than 300 peer reviewed SCI journal articles in international famous journals such as Nat. Catal., Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. and J. Am. Chem. Soc. These publications have earned him to date over 31000 citations with H-index 100. He was named in the annual Highly Cited Researchers 2018-2023 List by Clarivate Analytics. Dr. Zhang is the associate editor of Science Bulletin, Industrial Chemistry & Materials and Transactions of Tianjin University, and also serves as an editorial board member for peer-reviewed journals including Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Science, Small Methods, Scientific Reports, ChemPhysChem, Materials Chemistry Frontier, Solar RRL, Carbon Energy, Innovation and SmartMat. He is the recipient of a number of awards including Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship, National High-Level Talents Special Support Program, “Outstanding Young Scholars” of the National Science Fund. Bumjoon Kim

KAIST, Republic of Korea

Bumjoon Kim is a KAIST Endowed Chair Professor and Department Head in the department of chemical and biomolecular Engineering at KAIST. He received his Ph.D. degree from UC Santa Barbara under the guidance of Prof. Edward Kramer. Afterward he worked with Prof. Jean Fréchet at UC Berkeley. His current research includes polymer designs for the development of high-performance, mechanically-robust solar cells, polymeric electrolyte and block copolymer-based smart particles. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers and 70 issued/pending patents. He received the KAIST Academic Excellence Award (2015), Shimgye Science Award (2017), Doray Science Foundation Research Award (2019), MSIT-NRF Scientist of the Month Award (Korean Government, 2021), S-oil Next-Generation Scientist Award (2021) and is appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2022). He used to serve as editorial advisory board member of ACS Macro Letters and Macromolecules (ACS) and currently serves as editorial (advisory) board member of Chemistry of Materials (ACS), J. Mater. Chem. A (RSC), Giant (Elsevier) and Chinese Journal of Polymer Science.

Hiroshi Imahori

Hiroshi IMAHORI completed his doctorate in organic chemistry at Kyoto University. From 1990–1992, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, USA. In 1992, he became an Assistant Professor, ISIR, Osaka University and then moved to the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University, as an Associate Professor. Since 2002, he has been a Professor of Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. He has received Japanese Photochemistry Association Prize (2004), JSPS Prize (2006), CSJ Award for Creative Work (2006), Osaka Science Prize (2007), NISTEP Researcher Award (2007), RSC Fellow (2014), ECS Fellow (2016), and Foreign Member of Finish Academy (2018). His current interests involve solar energy conversion and organic functional materials.

Guihua Yu

Guihua Yu, a distinguished fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), is a tenured professor of the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His research group focuses on the rational design and synthesis of new functional nanomaterials, with particular emphasis on emerging materials for energy hydrogels, their chemical and physical properties, and their applications in energy, environmental, and life sciences. Professor Yu's work has been published in high-impact journals, including Nature, Science, Nat. Nanotech., Nat. Commun., Sci. Adv., PNAS, Chem. Soc. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem, Joule, JACS, Angew. Chem., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., Energy Environ. Sci., ACS Nano, Nano Today, Adv. Energy Mater., and Adv. Science. His papers have garnered over 22,000 citations and an H-index of 70, and have been covered by numerous international media outlets, such as Nature News, Science News, Forbes, and National Geographic.

As deputy editor-in-chief of ACS Mater. Lett., and editorial board member of several renowned chemical and materials science and technology journals, such as Chem (Cell Press), ACS Cent. Sci., and Sci. Rep. (Nature Publishing), Professor Yu is an active contributor to the scientific community. He has received numerous international awards, including the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, Sloan Research Fellow, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He has also been recognized as one of the "35 outstanding young innovators in the world" by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and has received the International Young Chemist Award from the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). Professor Yu has delivered over 110 invited lectures and presentations at various academic conferences and universities in the United States and abroad.
