Hongzhou Lu is the Hospital Chief Executive of Third People's Hospital of  Shenzhen. His research interests include Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, AIDS, Zoonosis. Prof. Lu has published 480 peer-reviewed articles in the past 20 years including more than 300 in journals such as Nature and New England Journal of Medicine. He has selected by Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists 2021 and Lifetime Science Influence rankings and elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology in February 2022.

Dr. Jiahong Dong is Professor, Dean of the School of Clinical Medicine, President of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University. He is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as the President of Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA). Dr. Dong has made remarkable achievements in hepatobiliary surgery, especially in the management of complex biliary diseases. He was the first to propose the concept of “precision surgery” worldwide and has been endeavored in establishing the surgical paradigm and technological system ever since.  Dr. Jiahong Dong’s respected and active roles in the academic community include the standing committee member of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) Surgery Branch and the Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation, Chief of the CMA Biliary Surgery Branch, Chairman of the Liver Tumor Branch of China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health care (CPAM). He has been awarded the honorary foreign academician of French National Academy of Surgery (FAS), honorary fellow of American Surgical Association (ASA), honorary fellow of European Surgical Association (ESA), and the Surgical Section Chairman of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO).

 

Guanghui MaInstitute of Process Engineering, CAS, Beijing, China 

Guanghui Ma is a professor of the State Key Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering (SKLBCE), Institute of Process Engineering (IPE). She is an academician of CAS in China and AIMBE fellow. Her research interests focus on the preparation of uniform microspheres and microcapsules and their applications in biochemical engineering and biomedicine engineering, such as biochemical separation media, drug carriers, vaccine adjuvants (vaccine delivery systems), microcarriers for cell culture, and enzyme immobilization carriers. She has published over 400 papers which has been cited for over 12,000 times, including Nat. Mater., Nat. Biomed. Eng., Nat. Commun., Sci. Adv., JACS, Adv. Mater., etc.

Eric von Hofe, Affyimmune Therapeutics, Natick, USA

Eric von Hofe, Ph.D., is a Senior Advisor to AffyImmune Therapeutics. His research interests have focused on ways of activating the immune system to fight cancer and potentially pandemic infectious diseases. He has published 53 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the inventor on seven patents. One of his major achievements is conducting one of the largest clinical studies ever of an immunotherapeutic vaccine for breast cancer and designing a peptide vaccine for SARS-CoV-2. Most recently he has been working on a novel cellular therapy for cancer.

 

Yi-Wei TangDanaher/Cepheid, New York, USA

Yi-Wei Tang is the Chief Medical Officer of Danaher Diagnostic Platform/Cepheid China. His research interests include clinical and molecular microbiology. Prof. Tang has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals in the past 30 years. He is currently an Editor for the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, an Associate Editor for the Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, an Associate Editor for the Emerging Microbes and Infection, a Fellow of the American Academy for Microbiology and of the Infectious Disease Society of America.

 

Tetsuya AsakawaThird People's Hospital of  Shenzhen, Shenzhen, China 

Dr. Tetsuya Asakawa is a full professor/chairman of the Institute of Neurology, The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen. His research focuses on the clinical neurology, general neuroscience, molecular imaging and traditional Chinese medicine. He is a leading scientist in the fields of behavioral assessment in Parkinson's disease (PD), neuroprotective effects of neuroserpin, and evidence-based medicine in traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Asakawa has published 68 peer-reviewed articles as the first/corresponding author including the top journals like the Lancet, Neurosci Biobehav Rev, molecular Oncology, and Current neuropharmacology. He has published two books in Springer, and has served as a principal investigator of five grants from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. In 2021, he left for China and became a full professor working in Shenzhen. Now, other than his research, he is also engaging in the translational medicine and rehabilitation in China.

In the past 10 years, Prof. Mao has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in Lancet, Cell reports, Autophagy, et al. Now he also lead the innovation team of vaccine development for bacteria, ministry of science and technology, China.

 

Chungen Qian, Shenzhen YHLO Biotech Co., Ltd., ShenZhen, China

Chungen Qian is the director and deputy general manager of Shenzhen YHLO Biotech Co., Ltd. His research interests include microfluidics biochips, structural biology and molecular diagnosis of in vitro diagnostic products (IVD). Prof. Qian has published 21 peer-reviewed articles in Nature Signal Transduction and Targeted TherapyScience Advances, Journal of Infection and Journal of Medical Virology etc. in the past 3 years. He was nominated for the Ding Ying Science and Technology Award of Guangdong Province in 2021, and was awarded the title of “China’s Leading Figure in In Vitro Diagnostics” in 2021 and “The 2019 IncoPat Asian Inventor Award”.

Tohru Takata, MD, PhD.,a Professor of Department of Infection Control, Fukuoka University Hospital. His research interests include clinical infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, and infection control of opportunistic infections in immunocomprimosed patients . Prof. Takata has published 63 peer-reviewed articles in Nature,Nature Communication,Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease et.al.

 

Wun-Ju Shieh, Infectious Diseases Pathology Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Retired), Atlanta, USA 

Dr. Wun-Ju Shieh was the former Deputy Branch Chief at the Infectious Diseases Pathology Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and retired in July 2020 after 25 years of service. He recently joined the 2022-2024 roster of American Society for Microbiology Distinguished Lecturer (ASMDL) program. He participated many outbreak investigations during his tenure at CDC. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 scientific articles and 12 book chapters, including 28 in the past five years. He has delivered more than 250 talks at international, national, regional meetings, workshops, and various institutes in the past thirty years.

 

Jian Xu, Director, Single-Cell Center; Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao, China 

Jian obtained B.S in Biotechnology from Peking University in 1997, and M.S. in Computer Science and PhD in Biochemistry under Jeffrey Gordon from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. After serving as Research Instructor at Genome Institute of Washington University, he joined Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS-QIBEBT) in 2008 and has been the founding Director of Single-Cell Center, CAS-QIBEBT. Jian has published over 140 papers on leading journals such as Science, Cell Host & Microbe, etc, with ~15,000 citations (H-index 57).  Jian's research lies in instrument development for single-cell Raman imaging, sorting and sequencing (RACS-Seq, CAST-R, FlowRACS, EasySort, etc),  microbiome and diseases, and microbiome big-data and artificial intelligence. His contribution was recognized by a number of career awards from NSFC, MOST and CAS, including National Distinguished Young Scholars Award (2014), National Young-Scientist Award for Science and Technology (2016) and VCANBIO Award for Biosciences and Medicine (2016).

Lei Zhou is the Committee member of Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Research leader in State Key Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering. Her research interests mainly focused on new technology of biological detection and monitoring.
