Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions
JPTSD obeys the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to correcting errors in published manuscripts and, where necessary, retracting manuscripts to maintain the integrity of the scientific record. We encourage authors to promptly notify us when there are concerns related to manuscripts that have been published in JPTSD. These could range from minor corrections to errors or misconduct that affect the core conclusions of the manuscript. Readers with concerns regarding the integrity of a manuscript published in JPTSD should contact the editorial and publication department office of JPTSD by email at kqjbfz@smu.edu.cn. Concerns will be investigated following COPE guidelines, which allow authors a chance to respond. For other substantive and scholarly commentary on articles, readers are encouraged to comment in the message area of the JPTSD WeChat official account (kqjbfz) or to email the editorial and publication department office of JPTSD.
For corrections that do not substantively affect any scientific results, the online HTML and PDF versions will be corrected, and the corrections will be noted in the article. For corrections that address scientific accuracy, an independent, citable erratum that transparently explains the corrections will be published online along with the corrected manuscript version(s). A notice of the erratum will run later in print. Authors who take responsibility for postpublication corrections ensure the integrity of their work. Together, we can promote the accuracy of the scientific record and integrity in scientific publications.
In cases of identified errors or irreproducibility of research findings reported in a manuscript published in JPTSD, a retraction is likely if the core conclusions are thereby invalidated. In cases of misconduct, the author’s institution will be informed and manuscripts will be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines
Complaints and appeals procedure
Any complaints against the journal or its employees, editorial board, and publishers can be emailed to the Editor-in-Chief at kqjbfz@smu.edu.cn or kqjbfz@vip.126.com.
We aim to acknowledge receipt of an email within 3 work days.
The managing director will then lead the investigation following COPE guidelines.
The complainant will be advised of the outcome by email. We aim to resolve issues within two months, but investigations can sometimes take more time depending on the concern or complaint characteristics, the availability of relevant data and information, and possible involvement of the author’s institution or other external parties.
1.Complaints about our publications
All concerns about our published content are investigated confidentially and in accordance with COPE guidelines regardless of their status or identity. JPTSD has zero tolerance for violations of publishing ethics and morality. Editors or peer reviewers who violate publishing ethics and morality shall be dismissed; manuscripts submitted by authors who violate publishing ethics and morality shall be rejected or withdrawn; and those who violate the law shall be investigated to determine legal responsibility.
2.Appealing an editorial decision
Editors have very broad discretion in determining whether a manuscript is appropriate for JPTSD. Some manuscripts are rejected by the editor during preliminary review, and the editor-in-chief may also decide to reject a manuscript with a general statement of the rejection decision, even though there was no double-blind peer review. These decisions are not eligible for formal appeal.
If the author believes the decision to reject a manuscript was not in accordance with JPTSD policy and procedures, an investigation will be conducted to determine whether the correct procedures were followed and to review the submission history and editor’s preliminary review records, double-blind peer-review records, and final decision records in the editing system. If the decision was made in line with editorial criteria and editorial policy and editorial procedures, the editor’s decision to reject is final.
If the author believes that the reviewers have seriously misjudged the manuscript, he/she may appeal to the editorial office to reconsider a rejection decision. The author must provide the editor with a detailed point-by-point response to reviewer and editor comments. The editor and the editor-in-chief will determine whether further consideration is merited or whether the original decision should stand.
3.Appealing corrective action taken post publication
If concerns are raised about a published article, the editorial department will conduct investigation, verification, and processing in accordance with the COPE guidelines.
