As one of the most important academic journals of forestry in China, “Journal of Central South University of Forestry & Technology” takes the responsibility of serving forestry scientific and technological innovation and strives to become an important platform for academic exchanges and scientific and technological improvement. In order to maintain academic integrity, advocate a good style of study, abide by professional ethics, and resist academic misconduct, all members of JCSUFT should pay attention to and comply with relevant publication ethics. All authors, reviewers, editors and readers of JCSUFT are deemed to have recognized and are self-disciplined by publication ethics.
Responsibility for authors
- The authors should ensure the manuscripts are original, with no academic misconduct such as falsification, plagiarism, fraudulence, etc. The manuscripts do not involve state secrets or any infringement issues related to intellectual property rights.
- The submitted data must be true, reliable, non-deceptive and original. References should be indicated and cited properly. If errors are found, the manuscript will be retracted or corrected promptly.
- Duplicate submission/multiple submission is strictly forbidden. A new submission is not allowed before the rejection notice from the editorial board.
- All authors of the manuscript have significantly contributed to the research, and the authorization and consent of the co-authors must be obtained before submission.
Responsibility for editors
- Editors should be responsible for the journal, fulfil the needs of authors and readers, ensure that the edited manuscripts are published with high quality and on time, and continuously improve the quality of JCSUFT.
- The published manuscripts must be selected based on their innovation levels and scientific values. Editors accept or reject submissions based on the originality, importance, clarity of the manuscript, and whether it is consistent with the purpose and discipline of the journal.
- Editors should respect the opinions of the reviewers and protect the enthusiasm of the authors. The reviewers' opinions and the revisions should be promptly fed back to the authors. During this period, editors must not disclose any information regarding the authors and reviewers to any irrelevant individuals.
- Editors are willing to help and communicate with authors and readers promptly. In case of major revisions, the authors should be contacted in time and their consent shall be obtained. Discussion and contention between different academic viewpoints are encouraged, and editors are obliged to respond to authors' views on the opinions of reviewers. Editors should ensure the fairness and reasonableness of the review process and eliminate all commercial needs and exchange of interests that are contrary to academic ethics.
Responsibility for reviewers
- Peer review is conducted anonymously. Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript objectively and impartially based on its innovativeness, scientificity and practicality. The manuscript should only be evaluated academically, but not based on the personal judgement of authors. A clear opinion on the publication of the manuscript is required.
- Reviewers must ensure the review process is confidential and respect the research results of authors. Manuscripts with conflict of interest should be avoided. One can refuse the review work if the reviewer is unfamiliar with the research content of the manuscript. Once the review invitation is accepted, the review work should be accomplished within the specified time. If any delay is caused by objective factors, the editorial department should be notified in time.
Responsibility for the editorial department
- Manuscripts with evidence of academic misconduct should be rejected, and the relevant authors and research teams should be notified according to the situation.
- Prior to the publication of the accepted manuscript, the editorial department should sign a copyright transfer agreement with the author, so as to safeguard the rights of the author and the publisher.
- In terms of the published article of JCSUFT, once any academic misconduct is verified, a retraction statement will be issued on the journal and related websites. Meanwhile, the research data will be omitted from the relevant database.
Responsibility for readers
The attention of readers is the driving force for the continuous development and progress of JCSUFT. If any problems are discovered while reading, please report them to the JCSUFT editorial department in time.
