Intelligent and Converged Networks
The international specialized journal co-published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Tsinghua University Press (TUP)
Introduction of the journal:
Intelligent and Converged Networks is an international specialized journal that focuses on the latest developments in communication technology. The journal is co-published by Tsinghua University Press (TUP) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technology (ICT). Intelligent and Converged Networks draws its name from the accelerating convergence of different fields of communication technology and the growing influence of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The journal is indexed in Ei compendex, Scopus, Inspec, DOAJ, etc.
Introduction of the special issue:
The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly changed the way we live, from a variety of aspects including entertainment, sports, agriculture, manufacturing, and so on. In IoT applications, a big volume of computational devices, sensors and infrastructures are often interconnected via the Internet and they have been producing approximately unlimited sensory data, which form one source of big data. In this situation, how to process, analyze and mine such big IoT data in an effective and efficient manner is becoming a practical challenge that requires intensive study. Fortunately, the recent advances of artificial intelligence (AI) have provided a promising way to aid smart IoT data analysis and decision-making.
The adoption of AI-related techniques to IoT data analysis is still highly demanded to achieve their full potentials in creating various smart IoT applications. In addition, how to guarantee secure and trusted data sharing and communications among different parties involved in IoT applications still requires challenging efforts especially when the IoT data are distributed and hosted by different stakeholders. In view of these challenges, this special issue seeks contributions on intelligent data analysis and protection solutions for smart IoT applications.
