Cybernetics and Intelligence, launched by the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University in 2023, is a peer-reviewed scholarly international journal with the focus on automation, autonomy and intelligence.

The transportation intelligence is a growing field that focuses on the design, optimization, validation and implementation with the artificated intelligence (AI) for complex intelligent transportation systems, connected and automated/autonomous vehicles (CVAs). In the past decades, the breakthroughs of artificial intelligence and related technologies have been revolutionizing the Transportation Intelligence and Systems in various domains such as autonomous systems based on CAVs for intelligent transportation, swarm cooperative decision-making and control, traffic safety analysis and evaluation, etc. However, there still remain huge challenges which require to develop novel technologies.

This special issue intends to collect new ideas and contributions for the Transportation Intelligence and Systems. The primary aspect of any contribution should be novelty and originality. Specific topics of interest for this special issue include, but are not limited to:

• Autonomous transportation systems
• Modeling and simulation of complex transportation systems
• Swarm cooperative decision-making and control
• Optimization of intelligent transportation systems
• Risk analysis and management of complex transportation systems
• Human-machine interaction and integration
• Human factors in intelligent transportation systems
• Verification and validation of connected and automated vehicles
• Other related issues

All manuscripts submitted to the special issue will be subjected to peer review. Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts through the submission portal https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/cai.
