Abstract

Anxi County in Fujian Province is the birthplace of Tieguanyin tea. This study examines the export trade of Anxi tea during the Republic of China period. Based on production and trade data, Anxi tea exports during this period are categorized into three stages: the decline stage, the development support stage, and the bankruptcy stage. Building on this, the historical background of each stage is further analyzed. The study explores the development of Anxi tea cultivation and production, economic trade, government policies, and transportation during each phase. It summarizes the development of Anxi tea trade during the Republic of China period and analyzes its underlying causes.
